FACTs:

Have you always wanted to filter your generated grignard but don't have a Glowbox or schlenkline. If you do it out of inert ATM, you know it will decompose readily. You usually always add your reactant to the generated Grignard, which is not always recommended because your girgnard is in large excess and reactant  as limited reagent at each drop. Your reaction simply doesnt run under controled conditions. 

BENEFITs : 

-Its always advisable to add Grignard reagent directly to reactant than vice versa. To get rid of impurities.  Reaction will be more controlled in that way than adding it VICE VERSA. You will feel well because you will have reaction under control.

- You can perfectly filter some minor of unreacted (Mg) along with other Grignard impurities while generating Grignard.

- You can simply transfeer it directly to pressure equalizing funnel and your Grignard reagent is ready for run for your hungry reactant without any decomposition. Lovely. Grignard will be pure without any residue which may later interfer with reaction and cause impurities.

After you have generated grignard under inert atm in round bottom flask put this piece of filter adapter to straight short stem vacuum adapter. Than put it directly to pressure equalizing funnel . Fit the flask to it turn it for 180 degree angle apply some  mild vacuum to suck it through filter to pressure equalizing funnel. You can also use multi adapter and running constant N2/Ar inlet through system. But is not required.  You will starts to love GRIGNARD for transfers and generally whole reaction.
